He clarified that this great accomplishment of the Dr. Abdul-Qader al-Mutawkel Typical Hospital confirmed the reality of President Ali Abdullah Saleh’s agenda in the course of creating partnership between the state and the private sector.

“Every national ceremony comes while we are celebrating great achievements, this year we are celebrating 4,500 projects carried out and funded by the government with contributions from the private sector and Arab and foreign capital, Yemen’s partners in development.” Al-Lawzi indicated that investment in the health sector reflects the President’s electoral agenda that includes encouraging the use of national capital for investment in medical services, the health sector, and drugs manufacturing. Al-Lawzi indicated the key role that the Dr. Abdul-Qader al-Mutawkel Typical Hospital will play besides the other governmental facilities in offering medical services and treatment to patients at reasonable prices. He also made an allusion to the President’s speech in Ibb saying that the President focused on the importance of encouraging such service projects that reduce troubles and burdens of citizens of going abroad for medical treatment.

Dr. Abdul-Qader al-Mutawkel, Chairman of the Board Council, and   a speech on the occasion.

“First of all, we are delighted to welcome you in honoring us with your attendance in the inauguration of the new hospital that coincides with the 19th anniversary of Yemen’s National Unification Day, a day that has brought Yemen back to its historical status, opening new horizons for development and advancement and comprehensive investment opportunities in all fields, including the health sector, that has developed and grown in the blessed unification era. This is all because of the adequate and attractive investment environment that encourages investment of national capital in the private health sector and the establishment of medical institutions such as hospitals and medical centers which can positively contribute to reduce pressure on public hospitals and also provide citizens with necessary medical and treatment services.”  “We were keen to engage in investment in the health sector. We had, and we still have confidence that the health sector is very important and calls for great responsibility since it provides a necessary human service, represented in offering patients medical treatment and help.”

“In our investment in the health sector, we were aware of the responsibilities and humanitarian perspectives that come with it which require providing health services to citizens, as medicine is humanitarian service, and not a commodity which requires dedication and sincerity. We were committed to morality when we established the hospital in 1992 and we have been able over the past 17 years to gain the confidence of the citizens through high-quality treatment and in the provision of non-profit services. We were able, according to others’ acknowledgments, to provide the appropriate equipment and specialized service for our departments as well as provision of efficient medical staff and medical equipment, and we managed to have a scientific and practical basis which has enabled the hospital to achieve excellence and the leading position in the provision of medical services.”

“Dear  participants, we became more committed to our responsibility which is an integral part of our health and our moral and professional policy, especially when we have seen  the increasing demand for the services provided by the hospital. We felt that it was necessary for us to expand our service because of our pride in the confidence and the strong relationship we have enjoyed from our customers, so we decided to expand in response to the demands of the patients and those who deal with the hospital and therefore we established this new hospital which is designed   according to the recent international specifications.  Dear participants, we are honored by your attendance to the opening of this hospital. It is characterized by its specialized sections and advanced medical equipment, made possible by the special patronage  and encouragement of the political leadership, as represented by the President. This encouragement enabled this hospital to be a great medical establishment that competes in the provision of medical services at the regional level,   providing the citizens with the services which they used to seek abroad, and contributing to the reduction of travel costs.”

“The huge numbers and the embodied achievements speak for themselves regarding the services that al-Motaqil Modern Hospital furnished over the last nine years. The hospital provided two million and seven hundred thousand medical services, and received more than 71,873 patients from different countries and governorates. It also received 2,301 medical students from Aden and Sana’a universities. The medical and hygiene institutes and the other colleges for practicing and research purposes come under the care of governmental, private and trade institutions in their relations with the hospital.”

“Finally, we are proud of our medical services that have won the trust of all, and would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks and gratitude to all of the medical, administrative, and technical staff in the hospital for their dedication and  keenness on the quality of medical services that put Abdul-Qader al-Mutawkel’s Hospital on the map of medical services throughout the country. I also thank the Ministry of Health leadership and the General Investment Authority for their support which enabled us to accomplish this distinctive level of service. We confirm that citizens’ health and care will always be our goal.”

At the celebration, 43 of the distinctive staff were honored including doctors, and administrative members.

Out of an attempt to cope with the latest trends, a hospital electronic website was established, in order to provide medical consultancy to the patients.
